The right painting does more than fill a space. It becomes part of your home, bringing beauty, peace, and quiet enjoyment every day."

MEET THE ARTIST

Debra Davis

I don't paint simply to fill a space on a wall.

I paint because certain places and moments deserve to be remembered.

An old country road. Morning light across a field. Wildflowers blooming along a fence row. The quiet beauty of familiar places that are easy to pass by, yet somehow stay with us.

Over the years, I've learned that these ordinary moments often become the ones we treasure most.

My hope is that each painting brings a sense of peace to the home where it hangs. That it offers a quiet place for your eyes to rest and reminds you of the beauty that's always been there, waiting to be noticed.

If you're drawn to peaceful landscapes, timeless subjects, and the quiet beauty of everyday life, I hope you'll feel at home here.

THE COLLECTIONS

Still Places

You collect moments of stillness that restore the spirit, anchor your home, and stay for a lifetime.

Simple Arrangement

This is about more than art. It is about bringing something into your home that invites pause, restores perspective, and reminds you what matters, every single day.

Gentle Blooms

"The moment I hung it on the wall, the room felt complete. Not because it matched the furniture or filled an empty space, but because it brought a sense of warmth and peace that had been missing. It felt less like something I bought and more like something that had quietly been waiting to come home."

COLLECTOR REVIEWS

I bought this painting because it felt peaceful the moment I saw it. It reminds me of places I’ve known and loved, and every time I look at it, it brings a sense of calm to the room.

Debra has a beautiful way of painting everyday rural scenes so they feel both personal and timeless.

Every day, I’m drawn to the calm this painting brings into my home. The heron, the soft water, and the quiet feel of the scene make the whole room feel more peaceful.

It’s one of those pieces I never get tired of looking at.

— Adam s, Attorney, Art Collector

This painting feels so personal to me. There’s something about the little house, the warm light, and the quiet setting that just makes me feel at home. It has such a peaceful presence, and every time I see it, it reminds me to slow down and enjoy simple beauty.

It’s one of the first things people notice when they walk into the room, but what matters most to me is how it makes the space feel. It’s comforting, calm, and meaningful in a way that goes beyond decoration. It’s a painting I truly love living with.

This is the kind of painting that quietly changes the feeling of a room. Every time I see it, I feel a sense of calm. The moonlight, the water, and the softness of the landscape all come together in a way that feels peaceful and deeply comforting.

What I love most is that it never feels ordinary to me. It has a stillness that draws me in, and the more I live with it, the more meaningful it becomes. It is one of those pieces that brings beauty to a space in a very quiet, lasting way.

my PROCESS

The story begins before the Brush Ever touches the canvas.

It begins with attention. With light moving gently across the landscape. With flowers opening softly in the morning. With familiar places and simple objects that carry beauty, memory, and a sense of peace.

These are the moments I return to again and again.

I paint landscapes, florals, and still lifes because I believe the most meaningful beauty is often found in what is calm, familiar, and true. My work is created to bring a sense of stillness into the home and to offer something that feels timeless, comforting, and personal.

If you are a collector, you know that art is never only about what you see. The right painting changes the feeling of a room. It adds warmth, presence, and emotional connection to the spaces where life happens every day.

That is what I hope to create with every piece.

Work that brings peace. Work that feels lasting. Work that feels at home in the life you have built.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is debra Davis?

I'm Debra Davis, an oil painter based in Cusseta, Alabama, near Auburn/Opelika. I create original oil paintings in the style I call Peaceful Realism, including landscapes, florals, still lifes, rural scenes, and other subjects that make me stop and look a little longer. I've always loved color, and painting has taught me to notice light, color, and beauty in things that can easily go unnoticed.

What is Peaceful Realism?

Peaceful Realism is my style of realistic oil painting. It reflects the way I see and paint the world around me, with careful attention to color, light, and the beauty found in everyday life.

The "peaceful" part isn't about painting only quiet subjects. It's about what I hope the finished painting gives you: a reason to pause, look a little closer, and perhaps experience some of the peace, comfort, and joy I felt while creating it.

What inspires Debra Davis's Peaceful Realism paintings?

What inspires me can be different every day. I've always loved color, so sometimes it's a color that catches my eye. Other times it's light across a field, flowers in a garden, an old barn, an interesting shape, or something familiar that I suddenly see differently.

Painting has taught me to look more closely and notice beauty in things that are easily overlooked or forgotten. My faith is part of that. I believe my ability to paint is a gift from God, and painting has deepened my gratitude for His creation.

I don't need to make ordinary things beautiful. The beauty is already there. Sometimes we just need a gentle reminder to notice it.

That's what inspires my Peaceful Realism paintings and what I hope others discover in them, too.

What kind of paintings does debra davis create?

I create original oil paintings of landscapes, florals, still lifes, rural scenes, and other subjects that capture my attention. Peaceful Realism isn't limited to one subject. What connects my paintings is the way I approach them: realistically, with a love of color and light, and with the hope of sharing what made that particular subject worth noticing.

Where is Debra Davis located?

I'm based in Cusseta, Alabama, near Auburn/Opelika. Living in this part of Alabama gives me plenty to notice, from rural landscapes and country roads to changing light and seasons. My original oil paintings are available to collectors locally and throughout the United States.

How can I purchase an original Debra Davis painting?

Available original oil paintings can be purchased through my website. Each painting page includes the size, medium, price, framing information, and other details about the work. If you have a question before making your decision, please contact me. Your message comes directly to me, and I'll personally respond.

Are Debra Davis paintings original??

Yes. Every painting I offer is an original work of art painted by me using traditional oil painting techniques. There is only one original of each painting. Every brushstroke, color choice, and decision you see in the finished piece was made by me as I worked.

Do Debra Davis paintings come framed?

Some paintings are framed and others are offered unframed. I'll always include that information with the individual painting so you know exactly what you're purchasing. If you have a question about the frame or how a painting might work in your home, just ask. I'm happy to help.

Do you ship original oil paintings?

Yes. I ship original oil paintings within the United States. I carefully package each painting so it is protected on its way to its new home. Shipping details and any applicable costs will be provided with the artwork or during the purchase process.

Can I see more photographs of a painting before I purchase it?

Of course. I know looking at an original painting online isn't quite the same as standing in front of it. If you'd like close-up photographs, additional views, or more information about the color, texture, frame, or anything else, please contact me. I want you to feel comfortable with what you're choosing for your home.

Does Debra Davis accept commissions?

I occasionally accept commissioned oil paintings when the subject feels like a good fit for my work and Peaceful Realism. If you have something in mind, send me a message and tell me about it. We can talk about what you're hoping for and decide together whether it's a painting I'm the right person to create.

How do I care for an original oil painting?

With proper care, an original oil painting can be enjoyed for generations. Keep it away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive moisture, and extreme changes in temperature. For light dusting, use a clean, soft, dry brush and never apply water or household cleaners to the painted surface. If your painting ever needs deeper cleaning or restoration, I recommend consulting a professional art conservator.
